In an incident reported on Friday, October 2, 2020, a water pipeline burst in Dombivli's Desai Gaon area, which eventually affected the supply of water in nearby localities. As per reports, the repair work was expected to be completed, in the evening on Saturday, October 3, 2020.

Citizens reported flooding in several areas of Dombivli, Shil road which connects to Badlapur. Besides this, residents from nearby slums reported flooding as water seeped in the areas and hutments. Citizens also reported traffic jams due to the incident. The relief was offered when the water supply was cut off, however, residents had to work until late night to remove the same from their houses. 

The incident caused concerns for citizens, as supply in some areas of Navi Mumbai, Thane, Mira Bhayandar and other Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) localities were affected until Saturday.

The work was started on Saturday, and officials from the MIDC stated that the pipes were old, and needed time to repair. Owing to the condition, they tend to break often and 6-feet-wide pipeline was said to have damaged in this incident.
