The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced a complete water cut for 20 hours on January 19 and 20 in parts of its L ward (Kurla). The civic body has planned to carry out repairs at six outlets in the Powai water reservoir and for that this water cut has been planned.
The repair work will start at 8 am on January 19 and end at 4 am on January 20, said the Municipal Water Engineer Department.
During this repair period, electoral ward numbers 156, 161, 162 and 164 in areas of Kurla Division, Uday Nagar, both sides of Marwah Road, Tejpal Compound, Tilak Nagar, Anis Compound, Rajiv Nagar, Millat Nagar, Wire Street, Samhita Complex, Jarimari, White Bridge, Satyanagar Pipeline Road, Shanti Nagar, Shivaji Nagar, Tanaji Nagar, Khadi No. 3, Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar will not have a water supply.
Therefore, the civic body has urged citizens of the area concerned should store adequate water before the repair work. An appeal has been made by the municipality to use water sparingly during the water cut period.
