In yet another dismay for Bandra residents, the water supply in the area has been disrupted owing to a pipeline burst at Pali Hill area this afternoon, April 24.
This development came a day after the civic body restored the water supply on Sunday, April 23, across Mumbai, which was affected with 15% water cut.
As per BMC officials, a 600 mm diameter inlet at Pali Hill Reservoir was damaged today, April 24, 2023, during Storm Water Drainage works at Water Field Road, Bandra (West). Hence, water supply in 'H' West Ward at Sherley Rajan Road, Chimbai Village, Varoda Road, Manuel Gonzales Road area, Perry Road, Navin Kantwadi area was affected between 10 am to 2 pm.
Water supply will be restored after the completion of repair work carried out from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm at Koliwada, Dandpada and Road No. 16 to 21 in Khar Danda. Meanwhile, water supply will be restored between 9 pm to 12 am after completion of repair work in the area near Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar road.
The repair work is likely to take about 8 to 10 hours, including dewatering, repair, charging, etc. Therefore, citizens are requested to co-operate with the administration and use water judiciously.

Releasing an official statement, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said: "Water supply disruption in Bandra. Inlet water pipeline of Pali Hill reservoir bursted at R K Patkar Road in Bandra West. Repairs are underway. But, the water supply was suspended for H/West Ward. Emergency teams are present on the site."

The H/West Ward of the BMC also shared a video of the affected water supply pipeline on Twitter and explained the reason for water supply disruption.
