The past few days have been really challenging for citizens from Andheri (both east and west), Jogeshwari and Vile Parle as they have not been getting enough water. The reason for this water cut was a damage to water supply pipe during work of Metro 6 by the contractor.
BMC officials stated that the repair work will be done by Feb 1, 2020 and the water supply will be restored on Feb 2, 2020. They have further informed that the repair work has been completed by the evening of Feb 1. We reached out to several friends and readers in the area to find out if the water supply has become normal. While some confirmed that it had, there are were many from different areas which stated the otherwise.
The water supply seems to be completely restored around Yari Road and 4 Bunglow areas, while people at Andheri East complained that the water came only in the morning and the pressure was also low. Further, our readers in Vile Parle shared that the water supply is yet to be restored in this area.
The four Reservoirs get filled with water. The water filled, is given to some area with adequate pressure for 2-3 hours to make water reach till tail end of the area. The reservoirs get again filled . Again few areas get supplied with good pressure for 2-3 hours till tail end 1/3
