In the BMC on Tuesday, the scramble hit when an employee of a BMC was trapped for nearly an hour in the VIP lift. Fire brigade and OTIS elevators service people were called in to open the lift and take out the person who was stuck there for 2 hours. Just 10 minutes before this incident BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta had used this lift.
The VIP life in the BMC headquarter building at CST is meant only for VIPs. Around 11 am, Commissioner Office’s clerk Gajanan Chaudhari got in the lift and got stuck in it for 2 hours. Fire brigade team and OTIS elevators company’s service people were called in to rescue Chaudhari.
After Chaudhari got released from the lift he got back to work but as a precaution step, he was taken to St. George Hospital for medical check-up.
