A 15-year-old girl, an alleged victim of sexual exploitation, gave birth to a girl after watching YouTube videos at her home in Nagpur and then killed the baby, according to officials. A man she met online sexually molested her, a police officer said.
To hide pregnancy she thought of home delivery
To hide the pregnancy, she thought of an idea of home delivery and she started watching YouTube videos of the same. On March 2, she gave birth to a girl at her home and immediately strangled the newborn to death. Later, she hid the body in a box in her home, the official added.
Body sent for postmortem
When her mother returned home, the girl narrated her ordeal and following which she was taken to the hospital and the body of the newborn was sent for postmortem.
Under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, a case has been registered. The official added that the murder charge will be invoked after receiving a postmortem report.
