2 navy personnel die in INS Betwa mishap

Mumbai – Two Navy personnel died and many others sustained injuries as INS Betwa flipped over in Naval Dockyard in the city on Monday. The Navy has ordered a probe in this incident. According to reports, the repair work on this missile carrying frigate was on. It was being taken out from the dockyard on Monday afternoon. Due to a technical snag the warship flipped over. As the result, Navy personnel and other technicians fell into the sea. The work to rescue the drawing Navy personnel was immediately started. “Total 14 navy personnel have been rescued while two died in this incident,” informed Navy spokesperson Rahul Sinha. The names of the deceased are reported as NK Rai and Ashutosh Pandey. As per reports, the incident occurred due to snag in dock blocks mechanism. Such incident has never happened in the history of Indian Navy. Now, the Navy has a big challenge to straighten the warship.
