In a bizarre incident, a 30-year-old man allegedly set himself on fire by pouring kerosene on his body at Tardeo police station in Mumbai on Thursday evening, November 11.

However, the man was rescued due to an immediate action by the Mumbai police to douse the fire. Following this, he was rushed the man to Nair Hospital. He is undergoing treatment at Nair Hospital.

As per officials, the injured man used to work as a delivery boy in a company and lost his job.

According to reports, the man had been to Tardeo police station on Wednesday, November 10, to lodge a complaint about his missing wife. The police registered the complaint and started searching for her.

Reports suggest that the couple who lived in a joint family, often fought over trivial reasons. On Wednesday, after one such fight, the wife left the house.

The next day itself, city police located the woman and called her to the police station for further questioning. When she went to the station in the evening to record her statement, her husband too reached the station. According to reports, the man then allegedly poured kerosene on his body before entering the police station premises and set himself on fire in front of his wife.
