Police crack Mulund robbery case, arrest history-sheeter

Mumbai – The property unit of the Crime Branch has cracked a robbery case in which gold ornmanents worth Rs 80 lakh were stolen from Mulund. Police have arrested a history-sheeter in this connection.

According to police information, a robbery had taken place in the house of a trader in Mulund on December 28. During investigation, police came to know about one Rajesh Shetty. The police laid a trap at a bar in Malad and arrested the accused along with a goldsmith identified as Pravin Soni who had bought gold from Rajesh Shetty.

Rajesh Shetty is a history-sheeter and 15 cases including murder are registered against him. The accused first identifies the target and robs it on getting a chance. It takes only 15-20 minutes for him to rob a house, informed Vinaykumar Rathod, deputy police commissioner of Crime Branch.
