One person was killed and four others injured when a speeding vehicle collided with a BEST bus at Dadar Plaza bus stop in Mumbai on Sunday night. Mumbai Police said the tempo traveller was heading towards Shivaji Park when its driver lost control and hit the front of a BEST bus at Dadar Plaza bus stop.
The injured were taken to Sion Hospital
A police team on patrol duty arrived at the scene and, with the help of the bus conductor, transported the injured to Sion Hospital. A 37-year-old man was killed and four others, including a woman, were seriously injured when a speeding vehicle rammed into a BEST bus waiting at a bus stop in Mumbai's Dadar late Sunday night.
Driver lost control
According to preliminary investigations, the Tempo Traveller was heading towards Shivaji Park when its driver lost control and collided with the front of a BEST bus, causing it to veer left and collide with buses parked at the Dadar Plaza bus stop.
The condition of four others is stable
Shahabuddin Sheikh, who suffered serious injuries to his head and other parts of the body, was declared dead during treatment. The official said the condition of four other injured people is stable. The injured were Rahul Ashok Padale, 30, Rohit Ashok Padale, 33, Akshay Ashok Padale, 25, and Vidya Rahul Mote, 28. They are all residents of the Wadala area and were waiting at the bus stop to board a bus.
The front of the bus collided
According to police, the accident occurred around 11:30 pm on Sunday night when the bus, number 169, was traveling from the Worli bus depot to the Pratiksha Nagar depot. As the bus approached the Plaza bus stop, a speeding tempo traveller hit the front portion of the bus. The BEST bus was taken to the Wadala depot for RTO inspection, and the Tempo Traveler was seized, police said. Inspector Datir said further investigations are underway.
