Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. recently made a startling discovery in Malad (East). They identified a major power theft case worth INR 1.33 crore. The case revolves around Jaini Traders, an electroplating company located in Kurar village. It was unlawfully utilising a three-phase direct supply from Adani electricity over a period of three years and nine months.

Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Kandivali Police Station against the individuals responsible for this illicit act. The individuals named are Hansa Ramesh Bhushan, Prabhu Ratan Gami, Nilesh Mansukhlal Kamdar, and Subhash Ramji Gupta.

After discovering the theft, the monitoring team alerted about the suspicious activity. However, at the time, they lacked sufficient information to take immediate action. The team made preparations before launching an extensive examination of the low-tension (LT) network. This investigation revealed a direct supply link.

The team encountered various attempts to manipulate their investigation. Despite the opposition, they were able to gather compelling evidence that revealed the extent of the power theft. Over a period of three years and nine months, a staggering 6,88,239 units were stolen. This amounts to a massive sum of INR 1,33,05,209.54.

A representative from Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd. emphasised the company's determination to enforce robust measures against power theft. The case has been transferred from the Kandivali Police Station to the Kurar Police Station for further investigation.
