Thane police’s crime branch has summoned Shamsuddin Siddiqui, the brother of Bollywood star Nawazuddin Siddiqui, to submit a report on Monday morning regarding the CDR (Call Detail Record) case.

Earlier in March, the Thane crime branch investigation exposed the sale of contact numbers by detective Rajni Pandit and it was a big catch for the crime branch. The police arrested 12 people in this case and filed a charge sheet against Prashant Palekar, Jigar Makwana, Makesh Pandiyan, Prashant Sonawane, Samaresh Jha, Ajikya Nagarogoi, and Kirtesh Kavi. The 2,163-page long charge sheet includes important documents related to the crime and the involvement of 25 witnesses.

During the interrogation, the names of Hindi film actors and actresses have come forward including actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Back in March, Nawaz was charged with demanding the CDR details for his wife’s mobile number. Thane police had summoned Nawazuddin to appear for an inquiry in March regarding this case.

Now, the police have summoned Nawaz’s brother, Shamsuddin Siddiqui, in this case. Shamsuddin had appeared before Thane police crime branch on Monday. The investigation is ongoing and the police had told that his role, in this case, will be known until the investigation is over.
