On Tuesday, February 8, the Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), Railway Protection Force of Central RailwaysMumbai Division busted a hawala racket at Dadar station of Central Railways

On the basis of inputs received, the CIB team consisting of Constable, Neelkanth Gore, Vinod Rathod and Vijay Patil laid a trap and arrested Sendharam Khumaram, who had arrived from Amravati. Khumaram was reportedly waiting to deliver the hawala amount on platform no.1 at Dadar station.

He was interrogated at the RPF post in presence of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Central Railway, Deputy Director Income Tax (Investigation) Mumbai and other members of the CIB team and an amount of INR 67,44,500 was recovered from him. Khumaram was handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation.

On the other hand, the ticket checking staff of Mumbai Division of Central Railways rescued a runaway girl child from Ahmedabad at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus platform and reunited the girl with her parents. Atul Datar, Chief Ticket Inspector of Special squad detected a minor girl without a ticket during ticket checking on Tuesday, Wednesday 8 at the Terminus.

Ticket Checking staff handled the situation carefully and promptly contacted her parents and also informed the Commercial control. Later she was handed over to Government Railway Police (GRP), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus.
