The Jiah Khan suicide case has been one of the most controversial cases in Bollywood's history. The case has been going on for nearly a decade, and the verdict has been pending for a while. As per reports, Suraj Pancholi has maintained his innocence throughout the trial and denied all allegations against him. Recent information reveals that a special court in Mumbai is expected to give its verdict on April 28, 2023, against actor Suraj Pancholi, who is accused of abetting her suicide.

Arguments in court

On Thursday, Special judge AS Sayyad heard arguments on pending applications and rejected two pleas. The first plea was filed on behalf of Khan’s mother, Rabia, seeking recall of two witnesses. The court rejected the plea stating that Rabia does not have the authority to make such a plea as an intervener since the CBI has already declared the evidence closed. The second plea was filed by Pancholi seeking certain documents mentioned in the forensic report.

Pancholi’s statement

Earlier this month, the court recorded the statement of Suraj Pancholi under section 313 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Pancholi was asked 558 questions based on the evidence presented. In his statement, he claimed that he was falsely implicated at the behest of the complainant, Rabia. He also denied the allegations made by Khan’s sister that he used to abuse her when they were in a relationship. When asked about the claim by Rabia that it is not a suicide case but that of murder, Pancholi responded stating, “I am not responsible for Nafisa’s death.” He also denied the allegations that Khan had undergone an abortion when they were in a relationship.
