After the Blue Whale challenge unnerved the entire nation, another such sadistic challenge has come to light which is known as ‘Dare and Brave’.
This game is slightly inspired from the fun, quirky game from the 90s which teenagers were familiar with, ‘Truth or Dare’, but this latest version of the game proves to be lethal and harmful.
In this new-age game, people challenge others to perform erratic tasks which range from something stupid as asking someone out to exchanging obscene pictures.
An incident has come to light from Andheri where a young girl participated in the challenge and after losing the task, she was asked to exchange nude pictures with the other person. The 15-year-old lost one of the tasks and the other person demanded nude pictures from the girl and after she complied, the person blackmailed her with those images.
Thankfully, before it was too late, the girl’s father filed a complaint with MIDC police. A 23-year-old from Gujarat was arrested in connection with this case and he was booked under the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Information Technology (IT) Act.
According to reports, the game originated from the United States of America (USA) where teenagers played this game to be labelled socially ‘cool’ and be accepted in the social circle.
Teenagers need to be a little more smart about the choices they make and parents need to try and help their children.
