Crunched for space, families living on the slums on the Kazi Sayyed Street at Carnac Bunder sit on chairs outside their illegal shanties. This leads to traffic snarls and fights between these slum dwellers and people walking on the street. Citizens have complained that these shanties are illegal and the people living there pick up fights with citizens walking on the road.
Local resident Sunil Khair who drives his two wheeler daily through this road said that he has to suffer traffic jams due to this nuisance.
On being questioned about this issue, the local ward officer Udaykumar Shirurkar has assured that they will take action against these enchroachments.
