The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an assistant engineer with the Maharashtra Water Resources Department for accepting a Rs 90,000 bribe from a farmer. It is said that the farmer was seeking permission to lift water from the Pawana river in Maval, Pune.
The accused, Monika Nanaware (31), works in the Lift Irrigation Division of the water resources department and was booked on Tuesday under multiple sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
