In what can be called a possible suicide case, bodies of a man and his mother were found at their residence in Mira Road on June 25, Tuesday. The police retrieved a suicide note from the man's laptop which raises the suspicion that the man killed his mother first and later committed suicide.

The police reached the spot after the neighbours complained of a foul smell coming from the apartment and called the police. After which, the bodies were sent for post-mortem. The deceased have been identified as Vaikateshwaran Gopal Iyer, 42 and Meenakshi Iyer, 75.

When the police reached the house, the mother's body was found in a pool of blood whereas there were injury marks on the man's body.

The mother and son had moved to Mumbai in 2017 and were residing at Marigold Apartments in Mira Road. While their agreement with the landlord had lapsed in April, the deceased man had sought two months time to vacate the flat after he told the landlord he had some prior engagements.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case in the matter and they are conducting an investigation about the same.
