The Cyber Cell of Mumbai Crime branch arrested a 39-year-old man from Andheri for creating a fake profile of Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar on Twitter and posting derogatory remarks against NCP leader Sharad Pawar.

The accused Nitin Sishode, who is reportedly a software engineer, made the Twitter handle by the ID SaraSachin_rt and tweeted, “Everyone knows that Sharad Pawar NCP looted Maharashtra State but little know that he tried Center to #MallyaNamesPawar.” The cyber police also seized a laptop, two mobile phones, a router and other computer accessories used by him.

Sachin Tendulkar's personal assistant had filed a complaint with the cyber police on Sachin's behalf that somebody has created a Twitter handle in the name of Sara, who is studying in London. It said Sachin was shocked by the fake account and reacted on several occasions that it was a fake profile.

After tracing the IP address, the crime branch also got the confirmation that the techie was using a particular router. The cops will now send Sishode's laptop to forensic experts to extract details about the user. He has been booked under section 419 (Cheating by personation), 420 (cheating), 500 (Defamation), 66 C (Identity theft) 66D (Cheating by personation by using computer resource) of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.

Sishode’s advocate Ajay Dubey says that Sisode has been implicated and though he deals with second-hand laptops and computers and that somebody who bought a laptop from him may have uploaded the derogatory remarks.
