A serious incident took place in the Antop Hill area where an accused opened fire on his friend on Saturday morning due to a dispute over exchange of money. Akash Kadam alias Swami was seriously injured in this attack and is undergoing treatment at Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion. In this case, the police have registered a case of attempted murder and the police are searching for the accused.


According to the information received from the sources, the injured Akash was currently staying at Navtarun Naik Nagar in Antop Hill. Accused Vivek Shettiar (40) had an argument with a friend over money. Around 5 am on Saturday, Vivek went to Akash's house and shot him. Vivek ran away as Akash fell to the ground with a bullet in his stomach.

The incident of firing created a stir in the area. The nearby residents rushed the injured Akash to the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion. He has a bullet on the left side of his stomach. He is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the teams of Crime Branch along with Antop Hill Police rushed to the spot and started investigation. On the complaint filed by Akash's mother, Antop Hill Police has registered a case under the Indian Weapons Act for attempt to murder in this case.


According to preliminary information, accused Vivek had come there by taxi. A case has already been registered against Akash. Also seven cases including attempt to murder have been registered against Vivek. In this case, Antop Hill Police and Crime Branch Police are conducting a parallel investigation.
