A serious incident took place on Wednesday when a 55-year-old man was attacked with a knife and bamboo under the Phadke Bridge in Borivali East and was thrown into the river with injuries. The injured person's son died due to consumption of ganja. The accused attacked him due to a dispute over drugging him. In this case, a case has been registered against three people for attempted murder in Kasturba Marg police station.


Baban Suravase, a resident of Daulat Nagar in Borivali East, is a rickshaw puller. His son Rajesh Suravse (27) died of drug overdose. It has been alleged in the complaint that Rakesh of the same area was selling ganja. Suravase suspected that Rajesh was addicted to drugs because of him. He had a fight with Rakesh earlier too. He had also complained to the police about Rakesh. Police also took action accordingly.

On Wednesday afternoon, Rakesh and his two accomplices attacked Baban Suravse with a knife and bamboo. It is alleged that after attacking Suravase under the Phadke bridge, the accused threw him into the river. After getting information about this, the police pulled out Suravase from the river with the help of the fire brigade. At that time, he had serious injuries on his chest. Blood was coming from his mouth. There were beating wounds near the eyes. He was immediately admitted to Shatabdi Hospital.


Suravse Phadke was going by rickshaw over the bridge. It is revealed that at that time the accused called him under the bridge and assaulted him. In this regard, the Kasturba Marg police have registered a case of attempted murder against the accused Rakesh and his two accomplices and the search for the accused are on.
