Keeping up with its uniformity with relatable and trending posts on social media, Mumbai Police has this time spread awareness on password hacks in the House of the Dragon style amid the ongoing campaign #CyberSafeMumbai.

This development comes as there has been a rise in the cyber crime rate in the past few years. According to a data revealed by the Maharashtra police three months ago, a total of 2441 cybercrime cases were registered across the state between January to April this year.

Taking to the Gram, the city police stated: “Whether you use the internet frequently or not, avoid "drag-ging" outdated passwords.”

This attracted lot of memes and funny comments on the post. A user commented: "Not sure if I'm following Mumbai police or a meme page anymore."


Besides, under this campaign, an awareness and vigilance program was conducted at Chetna College, Kherwadi through Jagrut Mumbaikar Abhiyaan, Security Branch regarding terrorist attacks, bomb blasts, Cyber Crime and crimes related to women. In this, 230 students and teachers attended the program.

In addition, earlier, an awareness & vigilance program was conducted at Dr. Antonio Da Silva High School & Jr. College through Jagrut Mumbaikar Abhiyaan, Security Branch regarding terrorist attacks, bomb blasts, Cyber Crime and crimes related to women. Nearly, 170 students and teachers attended the program.
