A 34-year-old woman was raped several times by a young man on the lure of marriage. The victim in this case committed suicide by burning herself and the Vikhroli police has registered a case and started investigation. The victim lived in Tagore Nagar area of Vikhroli.
The woman was in a relationship with Jishan Beg (32) who lived in the same area for many days. Meanwhile, the accused had raped the woman several times by luring her for marriage. But after a few months, Beg refused to marry her, and the victim filed a complaint in the Vikhroli police station. Accordingly, the police registered a case of rape and arrested the accused. After that the woman withdrew the complaint and the court released the accused on bail.
The accused had not returned some of the money taken from the woman. Accused did not pay the money even after several requests and pleas. Finally, on February 21, the victim poured kerosene on her body and set herself on fire. Her family immediately admitted her to Sion Hospital. But the woman died during the treatment on Wednesday. The police have recorded her answer while the treatment is going on and the police are investigating the matter further.
