In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old MBA student from Mumbai was allegedly gang-raped by a group of six people on an isolated stretch at the Chamundi foothills.

The student reportedly went on a ride with her classmate. The classmate riding the bike, along with a local resident was thrashed as they tried to protect the said victim, the officials informed.

According to reports, the woman from Mumbai was admitted to the hospital with injuries and in a state of shock. On Wednesday, August 25, she spoke to the officials and a case has been filed. Moreover, one person reportedly working as a mason has been detained for questioning.

Meanwhile, CM Basavaraj Bommai said he has directed DGP Praveen Sood to ensure that the culprits are arrested at the earliest. In addition, Home minister Araga Jnanendra said a special investigation team has been formed to catch the culprits.

On the other hand, this comes after a woman's body was found packed inside a plastic bag in a drain in the suburbs of Mankhurd. As per the officials, locals had earlier spotted the bag lying in the drain in Zakir Hussain Nagar of Mankhurd in the early hours of Sunday and alerted local police. Moreover, when the police opened the bag, they found the body of a woman, aged around 25 to 30 years, with hands and legs tied with ropes.
