Mumbai: Woman's partially burnt body found in Wadala

The body of a woman was found near the Mumbai Port Trust (MBPT) in Wadala East and it has been pointed out that she was killed by a blow on the head. After that, an attempt has been made to bring the body to the MBPT area and burn it. Wadala police registered a case of murder in this case.

The body of the woman was found in a burnt sack between MBPT entrance number 4 and 5 on Thursday. As soon as the information about this was received, a team of Wadala police reached the spot. The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained. But it is estimated that she is between 35 and 40 years old. The woman has serious head injuries. Apart from this, both elbows and knees are broken. The police said that it was difficult to identify the body as it was completely burnt.

The preliminary estimate is that the dead body was packed in a sack and brought to the spot and burnt. The body of the woman has been taken to KEM Hospital in Parel, where an autopsy will be conducted. The police have found a ring on the woman's hand and earrings in her ear. An attempt is being made to identify her through that. Also, the officer said that efforts are being made to get the information of the suspected accused with the help of the footage from the CCTV camera. The Wadala police have registered a case of murder against an unknown person in this case.
