Officers of Crime Branch Cell 7 arrested a 36-year-old man with weapons after conducting an operation in Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road area of Mumbai. Two pistols and eight live cartridges were recovered from him. The accused is a resident of Navi Mumbai and a case has been registered against him under Indian Arms Prohibition Act. The Crime Branch is investigating further in this matter.
The arrested accused has been identified as Munna Rajbali Dubey (36). He lives in Kopar Khairane area of Navi Mumbai. Crime Branch officials received information that a suspect was bringing a weapon to Pawar Wadi in the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road area. On the basis of this information, the police of Crime Branch Room-7 had laid a trap in the area. Dube, who was roaming suspiciously in the area, was detained by the police. He was searched and found two pistols, four magazines and eight live cartridges. A case has been registered against him under Indian Arms Prohibition Act.
A case has been registered in this matter at Powai Police Station and its investigation has been handed over to the police in Room-7 of the Crime Branch. Investigation is going on as to why the accused had brought the weapon here. While investigating Dubey, information about other suspected accused has been obtained and the police in the crime branch is conducting further investigation in this regard.
