In a shocking incident, a robbery took place in board daylight on Sunday afternoon, January 10. In this incident, three people have been injured after a group of four robbers opened fire and attacked them with choppers while looting a jewellery shop in Ambernath area of Thane district.

The incident took place at 1:40 pm and 250 grams of jewellery, worth INR 12.77 lakhs, has been looted, said a police official. The robbers armed with revolver and chopper entered Bhavani jewelley shop in Sarvoday Nagar and attempted to loot ornaments.

Soon, the shop owner raised the alarm creating a panic among the robbers who opened fire and attacked him with a chopper.

The accused then fired seven rounds, injuring one person, identified as Laxman Singh (30), and stabbed the other two, identified as Vasan Singh (26) and a staff member Bhairav Singh, with choppers. The three have been hospitalised, the police official said. The reports suggested that the owner Vasan and Lakshman reached the shop and found the door closed. The three unsuccessfully tried to stop them from escaping.

Meanwhile, the comments Teams have been formed and several roads have been cordoned off to catch the accused.
