A session court convicted Model Preeti Jain to three years in jail and a fine of Rs 10,000 for plotting to murder national award filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. In the year 2004, Preeti Jain alleged Bhandarkar of raping her in lieu of Bollywood break.
Jain approached Pardeshi to kill Bhandarkar and allegedly paid Rs 75,000 in the year 2005. The task was not completed. Jain demanded her money back from Gawli’s men and they alerted the police. Pardesi was arrested the same day and Jain was picked up while she was on her way to the Versova station.
