Dharavi - A pregnant woman committed suicide by hanging self at her resident in Navjeevan Society in Cross Road here on Sunday. According to information, Sujata Anthony Burger (28) is the name of the deceased. Her relatives have demanded the arrest of the husband of the deceased as they found her death suspicious. The deceased was allegedly under pressure from her in-laws to abort the pregnancy as she was already the mother of two daughters. Vanilla Mary, maternal aunt of the deceased, claimed that the deceased had contacted her on phone and said that she was being harassed by her husband and in-laws. It would come to fore only after the postmortem report of the deceased whether she died of hanging or something else. As the parents of the deceased are at their native place, no case has been registered with the police. Meanwhile, senior police inspector of Shahu Nagar police station, D B Thorat said that action would be taken immediately if harassment complaint is registered by the concerned persons.
