On Tuesday, the Mumbai police stated that two people were nabbed whilst two were rescued after a sex tourism racket was busted by the Mumbai crime branch, reported the ANI. Based on the press note issued by the police, a trap was laid once they attained reliable information that a woman along with a partner was operating a sex tourism racket. The woman is said to have been nabbed earlier in 2020 under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

A trap was laid by the police by means of officials posing to be customers. The press note elucidates that not only was a trip to Goa organized but two girls were also finalized by the accused. Adding that the trap was set at the airport wherein three girls met the officer and others who posed as customers. Money, as well as tickets, were exchanged, and once a signal was attained from them, the team nabbed the three women. They were then questioned, during which the officers understood that the main accused had come through the departure gate and got herself the boarding pass.

With the aid of CISF and airport police, the main accused was apprehended and taken into custody for enquiry. She is believed to have confessed to her crime and was then presented before a court where one day of police custody was accorded. On the other hand, the victims were sent to a shelter home, stated the release.
