Amid huge controversy over Dr Payal Tadvi's suicide case, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has decided to initiate its own investigation on the matter. The political party has constituted a three-member committee for the same including a cardiologist and VBA leader Dr. Anil Kumar.
VBA spokesperson Rekhatai Thakur said the decision to set up the committee has been taken in view of the reports related to Dr. Tadvi’s death. Thakur also informed that this death is a result of institutional failure.
We discovered that she was not the first one woman to face such kind of harassment at BYL Nair hospital. We have observed that this death should not be seen only as a result of harassment by three accused doctors but as institution failure too. The committee will interact with students, faculty members, hospital administration officials and alumni,” VBA spokesperson Rekhatai Thakur asserted.

In the committee, other members will include former Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Arun Sawant and retired Judge Sumandas Salve. VBA plans to present a report within a month.
