Illuminavi, an annual fest organised by the BA and BCOM departments of R.D. and S.H. National College, took place on the 7th of March, 2019. This festival is an inter – collegiate event wherein the college youth is given the platform to showcase their unique talents. The events in this fest covered a wide range of activities, right from Sports to Performance and Fine Arts. ‘Illuminavi: Explore the Jungle Within’ aspired to inculcate personality – building qualities in students in order to nurture their inherent skills.
Under the guidance and support of the Vice Principal, Dr. Neha Jagtiani and also the encouraging teachers of BA and BCOM – Prof. Prerna Jatav, Prof. Kranti Doibale, Mr. Kayzad Dadachanji, Dr. Kiran Sawant, Dr. Jennifer Rodrigues, Dr. Ravi Shukla, Dr. Ablin Alphonso, Dr. Kamu Masand, Anjana Vijan and Meghna Chautala and others, the students of BA and BCOM have managed and organized ‘Illuminavi’ for over 30 colleges across Mumbai.
The inaugural function kicked off with a spirited dance performance by the students from the host college. The chief guest for the inaugural function was Mr. Chintan Gangar aka Big Boss Jallad .The Welcome Address was given by Dr. Neha Jagtiani. The Chief Guest applauded the efforts of the students and ‘Illuminavi 2019: Explore the Jungle Within’ was declared open with much enthusiasm by everyone present while the auditorium filled up with cheering. The Inaugural Program concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Vice Principal, Dr. Kiron Jathar.
Some of the various events that took place included Face Painting, Cricket, Dance, Singing, Stand – up Comedy, Fashion Show, and Rap among others. These events were judged by a panel of very talented personalities like Kabiir Shreyar, Qutee Nagpal, Neeraj Yadav and more. Illuminavi started off with a blast with immense vigour in the sport of Cricket. Some of the other games played were Rink Football, Chess, Carom and Table Tennis. The Fest continued with Solo Singing judged by Rajad Hegde, Abhay Jodpukar. The singers put the audience in a trance with their melodious rendition of popular Hindi songs. Then there was the solo and group dance event which was judged by Neeraj Yadav.
The Fest concluded with the valedictory function involving appreciation and distribution of prizes to the most talented students. The chief guests, Mr.Chintan Gangar congratulated the winning teams and appreciated the efforts of the host college’s students and faculty members. The prizes for the various events in Sports, Fine Arts, Dance and Music, Literary Arts, and Dramatics were distributed with loud cheers. Every college that participated showcased their amazing talents fulfilling the ambition of the fest.
Illuminavi 2019 delivered beyond expectations this year as well and has become very popular among the participating as well as other colleges. This was only possible through the unwavering support of the college’s principal, Mr. Dinesh Panjwani, the strong backing of the Vice Principal, Dr. Neha Jagtiani, and the efficient and tireless management and enthusiasm of the students and faculty members.
