Mumbai will celebrate its pride month in January with a series of events taking place on the last three Sundays of the month.

The event, organised by an NGO LGBTQ, the Humsafar Trust will begin on January 15. This will include a day of games, a flashmob, a cricket competition, and a fair at several locations across the city.

The events, which are happening under Yaariyan, the youth initiative and Umang, the LBT+ led initiative of The Humsafar Trust, include:

Q-Games, a series of games like dog and the bone, sack race, tug of war, etc. The games will take place on January 15th at 4:30 pm at Juhu Beach. The event aims to introduce childhood games for queer people.

Flashmob, which will feature queer and allies practicing their dance moves on songs that represent metaphors of revolutions. The flashmob will take place on undisclosed locations across the city on January 22nd and aims to spread awareness about the social struggles of the community through dance.

QPL, the 11th iteration of the Queer Premier League cricket competition for the LGBTQ+ community. It will take place on January 22nd from 8 am to 5 pm at Ville Parle. The grounds will welcome all as audience or participants.

Gulabi Mela, a fair that will showcase art, entertainment, food, job opportunity booths, and more. The event, which will take place on January 29th, aims to provide more exposure to the LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and performers. Everyone is welcome to put up their own stalls at the fair.

The events will be supported by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). This is the first time the activities will be held after the COVID-19 pandemic.
