Dub Sharma and Saqib Saleem talk about the song “Lag Gaye Hai Lauke” in Comedy Couple

The Indian web series are not just getting creative with subjects but also looking at various innovations to promote and connect to the target audience. One such innovation was carried out by the Zee5’s web series Comedy Couple that has Saqib Saleem and Shweta Basu Prasad in the lead.

The movie has roped in Dub Sharma to compose a song titled “Lag Gaye Hai Lauke” for the movie. The catchy funny number is now catching up with the audience.

Mumbai Live connected with Dub Sharma and Saqib Saleem to know more about this song.

Dub reveals that it was Saleem’s idea to approach him for the song. Saqib Saleem said, “I was just going through his profile on Instagram and I thought he does such amazing things with sound and we could also benefit from an interesting sound for our film. I did not want a normal song for the movie. Since this is a fun film, it needed a fun song and that is when we approached Dub”.

Dub while narrating the experience of making this song said that initially the trailer was shared with him and it had a lot of content in it for him to work around so it was easy for me to start. He also mentioned that he was given total creative freedom while composing the track.

He said, “While working with the song, the dialogues that we were working with were so normal that we will hear that every day but they are also so funny and it was interesting to work with.

For those unaware Sharma, who previously produced "Azaadi" and "Jingostan" for Zoya Akhtar's "Gully Boy”.

Saleem also told that he totally loves the song Azaadi and listens to it when he is gyming.

Both Saleem and Sharma are proud of the final outcome and how to song has come out and hope that catches on with the viewers. 

We also spoke to Saleem about his role in the show and the feedback he got, to which he replied, "I only take the opinion of three people seriously. One is my sister [Huma Qureshi], and a friend in Delhi and another in Mumbai and all three were happy with the outcome".

Comedy couple is directed by Nachiket Samant and is a story of two stand-up comedians Zoya Batra (Prasad) and Deep Sharma (Saleem) who do their gigs together and their relationship.
