Zee5 to make a film based on prison breaks titled 'The Serpent'

'The Serpent' will be based on four stories and one of the stars of the film is Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. The announcement was made on Zee5's second anniversary event held in Mumbai.

In a recently held celebratory event, Zee5 announced their upcoming project - a film around prison breaks. The announcement was also made that popular Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will be a part of the same.

Prawaal Raman is directing the film. Titled 'The Serpent' this will be a four-story anthology on a prison break, which will be put together as a one-hour feature film.  Prawal has previously made films like Darna Mana Hai, Main Aur Charles and many others.  

Talking about the same, Neil said, "I loved the opportunity. It's Karmic for me to come back ane with Zee. I recently shot with the team and it was wonderful. The Serpent will be an exciting film and something new on Zee5."  

The announcement was made in the presence of Tarun Katial and the entire team of Zee5 on the 2nd-anniversary event of the platform. Zee5 had a star-studded event which was attended by popular names like Nakul Mehta, Chunkey Pandey, Ravi Dubey, Pooja Chopra, Mandana Karimi, Rajeev Khandelwal and many others from various OTT originals.

Besides this, the team also announced a list of other Zee5 Original shows. Rajeev Khandelwal will also be seen in a new show titled 'Naxal' which will go on floors this March. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kunal Kohli, the web series will be launched later this year. 

More information about 'The Serpent' is yet to be revealed.
