Panvel logs 24 new COVID-19 cases; one death

24 fresh COVID-19 cases were found in Panvel municipal area on Tuesday (December 8) while 57 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Panvel reported 24 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 25,916 while 57 people have made a complete recovery from this disease in the last 24 hours. In addition to this, one death has been registered in Panvel municipal area on Tuesday (December 8). In total 24,866 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 583.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area, two are from Panvel, two from New Panvel, three from Khanda Colony, three from Kamothe and 14 from Kharghar. Coming o the patients who have recovered, 10 from Panvel, seven from New Panvel, 13 from Kalamboli and 10 from Kamothe, 17 from Kharghar.

Maharashtra reported 4,026 new COVID-19 cases, 6,365 recoveries and 53 deaths on Tuesday (December 8), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,59,367. There are 73,374 active cases in the state and 17,37,080 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 47,827 in Maharashtra.

In total 1,13,77,074 people have been tested in Maharashtra. The states recovery rate is 93.42 per cent, while the mortality rate is 2.57 per cent. Currently, 5,617 people are institutional quarantine and 5,48,961 are home quarantine.

Meanwhile, India reported 32,080 new COVID-19 cases, 36,635 recoveries and 402 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 97,35,850 according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (December 8). While in total 92,15,581 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,41,360 in the country. At present, there are 3,78,909 active cases. According to the ICMR, 14,98,36,767 samples have been tested up to December 8.
