Solapur-based teacher Ranjitsinh Disale was recently awarded with the Global Teacher Award for his contributions in education. However, reports state that the teacher from Paritewadi Zilla Parishad (ZP) has been in radar for a while now and this is regarding his absence from the school.

Officials informed that Disale submitted his resignation from the school a few weeks back and has been absent from his post for the last 34 months and has also violated the rules set by the government. An inquiry report was prepared by the concerned authorities which mentioned that the leave was taken without any justified explanation.

Information regarding the same was published in the Indian Express which mentioned that the report comprising of six pages was reviewed by a committee formed under Solapur Zilla Parishad. Disale has applied for resignation as he decided to pursue a Fulbright scholarship in the US for six months. However, officials informed that the application did not have the documents required for approval and checking. A committee was formed as the application process required an inquiry.

Quoting a statement from the report, the publication mentioned, “Disale was relieved from his post at the ZP school on November 13, 2017, to attend the deputation charge at the DIET which was to start from November 17 the same year. But he reported there only on February 5, 2018. After his deputation charge at DIET ended on April 30, 2020, he was supposed to resume his school duty from May 1, 2020, but he reported there only on October 6, 2020. In his explanation, he notified that he was working at another deputation charge at the Solapur Science Centre. But there is no documentary proof regarding this at the Centre.”

Officials mentioned that Disale sought permission to work online, however, the same was not approved. Moreover, he continued to take financial decisions despite his absence and was unavailable for suty at the Zilla Parishad school or at other offices.

On the contrary, Disale mentioned that he has not received any copy of the report and has also submitted the explanation, justifying his absence.
