The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced that it has lowered the pass mark line for two of its board examinations, ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12). This move has been brought about to get these boards to be at par with other education boards.

Hence from 2018, students studying in ICSE boards will have to get a minimum of 33 per cent to pass, instead of 35 per cent while the ISC students will need 35 per cent in place of 40 per cent for passing.

This action can highly impact the outcomes of the upcoming board exams in 2019. It certainly is good news for the students, but a vague attempt of the CISCE to toe the lines with other boards.
