To ensure that students receive accurate information and proper guidance regarding CET examinations, the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), scholarship schemes and admissions, the Maharashtra government has decided to establish CET Student Assistance Centres in every district of the state.
The announcement was made by Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil during a review meeting held at the Mantralaya on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher and Technical Education Department B. Venugopal Reddy, Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell Commissioner Dilip Sardesai, Director of Technical Education Dr Vinod Mohitkar, Director of Higher Education Shailendra Deolankar, and district-level coordinators who joined online.
Patil said the centres have been launched to provide students with reliable information and proper guidance at every stage of the admission process. The initiative aims to ensure that students, particularly those from rural and remote areas, do not have to travel repeatedly to major cities for admission-related procedures.
The centres will offer assistance on admission processes, scholarship schemes, eligibility criteria and other important educational matters within students’ own districts.
40 Centres Across 36 Districts
A total of 40 CET Student Assistance Centres are being established across Maharashtra’s 36 districts. Mumbai will have three centres, while Pune and Nagpur will each have two centres.
Of the 40 centres, work on 26 has already been completed, while six are in the final stages of readiness. The remaining eight centres are expected to become operational shortly.
Officials stated that services at these centres began from June 10, providing students with easy access to admission-related guidance and support across the state.
