After a printing press published parts of 6th grade geography book in Gujarati, Education Minister Vinod Tawde on Monday assured that action will be taken against the printing press in this regard.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Tawde asserted that the printing press will be prosecuted under the law.

Maharashtra State Textbook Production and Research Board (BalBharti) in Pune publishes 21 crore books every year in eight languages including English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Urdu, Kannada, Telugu, and Sindhi.

Under the Vyapak Shiksha Abhiyan, free books are given to students from grade 1 to 8. In academic session 2018-19, Maharashtra state prints 92 per cent of its books through 114 printers and rest 8 per cent is worked out through 28 printers of other states.

Almost one lakh copies of the Geography book were printed by a printing press named 'Masers Shlok Print City' in Ahmedabad. It is being said that this printing press has misprinted the geography book.
