The practical examinations for the final-year exam will commence on September 15 whereas the theory examinations are to start from October 1.

On Thursday, September 3, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, as chancellor of universities asked the state universities to complete the process including the declaration of the results by October 31.

Moreover, the vice-chancellors of the universities have been asked to conduct the examinations using Multiple Choice Questions and Optical Mark Recognition, and to hold offline examinations only with regards to special cases.

The final-year examinations are to be held at home and was approved by the Governor, in view of the coronavirus outbreak. The decision was released keeping the University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines in mind, however, over the last few months, the state government has been trying hard to cancel examinations, to ensure safety for students amidst the pandemic.

In a press conference held in Mumbai, Uday Samant had earlier stated that in the midst of the pandemic, the health of the students is of utmost priority which is why the government has decided to conduct it in the month of October. He also stated that some of the universities will announce the results by October 31, while the rest will announce the results by November 10.
