The Education Deputy Director announces the second merit list for admission to First-Year Junior Colleges (FYJC) around 11:00 am on Thursday, July 19.

A few days ago, concerned government authorities decided to delay the second merit list from July 16 to July 19, 2018. The state was in the process of changing the system and seat matrix in line with the court orders under which they will reverse the vacant seats and return it to the minority institutions.

This year, over 2.1 lakh students have registered for admissions, of which over 50,000 students have confirmed their seats in the first round. Students who are allotted seats in the first list, secured their admissions between July 16 and 18.

In Mithibai College, the cutoff for Arts is 89.3 per cent , commerce is 86  while for Science the cut-off is 67.6 per cent .

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, colleges affiliated with University of Mumbai (MU) released third and final merit list of degree colleges whose cut off was above 90 per cent.

As many reputed colleges have a cut-off of 90 to 92 per cent, students scoring 70 to 75 per cent are facing problems.
