According to sources, more than 800 students who have scored 80 per cent and above in their SSC board examinations last year, have secured admissions to the junior colleges across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The Maharashtra education department had earlier initiated the admission process on a first-come-first-served basis from January 13. According to data shared by the education department, 50 students scoring 90 per cent and above were admitted in the first phase that concluded last week, while over 900 students scoring 80 per cent and above confirmed seats in the second phase of FCFS that concluded on Monday.

The dates for the admission has been mentioned down below:

January 13 to 15 - Students who get more than 90 per cent marks

January 16 to 18 - Students who get 80 per cent marks

January 19 and 20 - Students who get 70 per cent marks

January 21 and 22 - Students who get 60 per cent marks

January 23 to 25 - Students who get 50 per cent marks

January 27 and 28 - All students who have passed the 10th standard

January 29 and 30 - Students who get ATKT

Earlier on December 28, as the cut-offs for the junior college admissions witnessed a dip, prominent colleges witnessed a dip of 16 and 11 percentage points for the arts and science streams respectively, as compared to that of the third merit list which came out on December 15. Moreover, in minority colleges, the cut-offs went down across streams, with vacant seats under the minority quota being surrendered for other students
