FYJC admissions likely to resume post-Diwali
SHARES

Online classes for students from the Science, Commerce and Arts stream, for Class 11 (FYJC), started from Monday, November 2, 2020. On Day 1, 2.2 lakh students from Maharasthra attended these online classes. While the classes have begun, stream-specific lectures will start from November 5. The classes are being made available on YouTube for free streaming.

Admissions to first-year junior college (FYJC) in the state are likely to resume after Diwali vacations said officials from the state education department.

These admissions were put on hold due to the interim stay by the Supreme Court on Maratha quota in jobs and education.

The education department of Maharashtra has announced the Diwali break between November 7 and 20 for schools and junior colleges in the state. It is expected the government will give this issue a fresh look after this break ends.

Currently, more than 14.3 lakh students from Maharashtra have filled the admission form for FYJC, out of which more than 11.5 lakh have sought admission in the first round. The next round will focus on the remaining 2.79 lakh students who are waiting for the same.

While the admission process is not completed yet, the classes have already started.
