Teaching is one of the noblest professions and no one can disagree with the fact that the influence of a teacher is similar to the influence of one's family. A good teacher can shape the minds and future of the kids in the best way possible and therefore plays a vital role in the kid's life. With the deteriorating teaching conditions and curriculum in public schools, it is very essential that the teacher should be given a 'teaching license'.

According to the President and Founder of Early Childhood Association India  Dr. Swati Popat VatsA teacher has a huge impact on a child's personality, his all-round development, whether its cognitive, social or emotional development. Let's understand that when these three developments are put together makes the personality of the child and how that particular child is going to impact the society and the world as a whole. When you understand that a teacher's role has so much power, it requires that the teacher should be trained.

According to me, the license to teach should be given taking into consideration the following factors:

1. He/she has understood the pivotal role of research

2. She should know what is development-appropriate teaching

3. She should cater to the different learning needs of different children

4. She should be well aware of what is inclusive education. Possessing a teaching license should indicate that the teacher is well versed with all of this.

Adding to the importance of it, Dr. Swati Popat Vats further added,

Education is a very old subject in the world, its traditions are deep-rooted. A teacher should know how and when these practices emerged in the history of education along with what are the latest inventions and applications in the world of education. Moreover, it should be mandatory that she needs to upgrade her license every two years so that the teacher is well acquainted with her subject. Otherwise, it's a common sight to see that teachers just take their jobs for granted which is not beneficial for the future generation.
