Mumbai's Swayam Das and Abhijnan Chakraborty top Standard 10 and 12 ICSE exams

The CISCE announced the results for Class 10th and 12th board examinations on the promised date at its website.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) Board on Monday announced the results of the 10th and 12th standard board’s examination online. 

The examinations for Class X was carried out between February 26 and March 28 and for Class XII, between 7 February and 2 April. A total of 2.5 lakh students from all over the country took the examination.

Mumbai’s Abhijnan Chakraborty who studied in Poddar High Schools came first, all across the country, in Class XII examination.  Swayam Das, a student of St. Mary school from Koparkhairane also stood first in the country in Class X examination.

Students who held the second position for Class XII: Priya Khazani and Rakshita Deshmukh from Poddar High School. Ratisha Gupta from Bishops’ School in Pune. Anokhi Mehta of Narsee Monjee School stood second in the country for Class X.

Earlier, the passing percentage to clear Class X board examinations required at least 35 per cent marks but now it has reduced to 33 per cent. Also, for Class XII students the passing percentage has been reduced to 35 per cent instead of 40. The decision was taken by the board of Human Development Ministry.

As this decision comes, the possibility of the number of passing students in the ICSE board examination across the country also increases. Last year, the overall passing percentage of students in the board examination for Class X and XII was 96.5 per cent and 98.5 per cent, respectively.
