The 12th board examination conducted by the State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has started from today. A total of 14,57, 293 students have appeared for HSC examination this year and this exam is being conducted at 3,195 centres across the state. As many as 21,396 employees will be deployed for the smooth conduct of the entire examination across the state. During the examination, 271 monitoring teams will work in Maharashtra.

The morning session exam will start at 11:00 am and students will have to report half an hour earlier i.e. at 10:30 am while the afternoon session exam will start at 3:00 pm and it is mandatory for the students to be present at the exam centre at 2:30 pm.

This year, students have been given ten minutes after the scheduled time of the exam. To prevent photocopying of question papers, xerox centres have been shut down at a distance of 100 metres from the exam centre. Students who will be caught cheating will face criminal charges. Monitoring teams have been appointed in each district.


The assistant conservator appointed for this examination will work as a sitting team at each centre, during the examination there will also be shooting of film i.e. examination hall. In order to maintain the secrecy of the question paper, the invigilator bringing the answer sheet of the question paper must keep his GPS on till he reaches the examination centre.

Each class will have a sealed packet of 25 question papers in the examination centre, while opening the packet it will be signed by two students of the class, after which the invigilator will sign and distribute the question papers in the sealed packet.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has congratulated HSC students for the exams and has extended his best wishes as well.
