After registering complaints from several universities, the state CET cell has pushed the dates for various examinations for admission to professional courses.

This came after multiple universities complained that the dates clashed with the dates of the final-year examinations. As per the revised dates, the CET for master's in physical education course, which was earlier to be held on October 3, will now be held on October 29. Moreover, the field test will be conducted from October 31-November 3. The CET for the bachelors in Physical Education will be held on November 4 and the field test will be held from November 5-8.

On the other hand, the Supreme Court had earlier refused to cancel the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) for admission to engineering courses on a plea by two students who demanded that admissions this year be conducted based on the score of their Class 12 examinations.

The order was passed by a bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan and R Subhash Reddy. The petitioner represented by advocate Shivaji M Jadhav cited the rising number of cases of coronavirus in Maharashtra stating that conducting the examinations in such a situation posed a grave risk to students. However, Uday Samant, Higher and Technical Education Minister, stated that the government has been considering the possibility of taking the examinations online.
