What’s the story?

Maharashtra State Board students will now get one more period every week for sport and art each and an additional for some other subject. This makes three extra periods per week post-Diwali.

The State Council for Education Research and Training, Vidya Pradhikaran, recently issued a circular increasing number of periods from 45 to 48 per week.

One the students are done with their Diwali break, they will have to sit for three extra classes a week.

Additional classes without increasing school hours

The government was criticised a lot for bringing down the number of classes per week but now they’ve added three to the plan.

Now schools have to adjust these classes without increasing the number of working hours.
