The Mumbai University has cancelled all exams scheduled today, July 14, at the last moment, owing to continuous heavy rains. Currently, exams for engineering and pharmacy are on.  

This decision came after the Thane and Palghar collectors and the Panvel municipal commissioner announced that all education institutions in their jurisdictions will remain closed.

Earlier, the city deputy director of education Sandeep Sangave had directed education officers of different zones, including Mumbai, to take a decision on shutting schools.

The new date of the exam will be announced soon, said the director of the university's Board of Examinations and Assessment, Dr. Vinod Patil said.

In Navi Mumbai, all schools will remain shut on Thursday, while in Thane district, schools will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

Besides, Pune district administration issued a prohibitory order under Section 144 in all tourist places in the district. The administration has prohibited entry within a radius of 1 km to these spots from July 14 to July 17. Action will be taken against those violating the orders. Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) asks all the schools in the city to remain closed in view of the IMD's warning of heavy rainfall tomorrow, July 14.

All schools and colleges in Palghar district to remain closed tomorrow, July 14. Due to heavy rains and flood situation, all schools, colleges and private establishments/offices will remain closed in Gadchiroli district till July 16. All essential services will continue.
